Press Release: COVID-19 Support Fund Awarded

On behalf of Stanislaus Community Foundation and the United Way of Stanislaus County

Our Immediate Response to COVID-19

As local funders, Stanislaus Community Foundation and the United Way have partnered to work alongside you to support our community in multiple ways. Stanislaus Community Foundation recently expedited a $100,000 grant to Senior Meals on Wheels and disbursed over $200,000 from donor funds, to local nonprofits focused on food insecurity, shelter and health. United Way recently announced close to $100,000 in donations to food and shelter organizations from their emergency response fund and quickly expanded their 211 line to serve more residents. Both of our organizations have also been working to directly support the community through www.LoveOurNeighbors.org and www.LoveOurSchools.org. You can find more information on our initial responses at www.stanislauscf.org and www.uwaystan.org.

Our Support for Local Nonprofits

We know that along with the nonprofits that are providing immediate needs, many more of you are struggling due to cancelled fundraising events, loss of fee-for-service revenue and facing increased need as our unemployment rate increases and we experience increased demand for nonprofit services.

  • We want to identify your current needs as they unfold, given that we are in a very fluid situation both SHORT- and LONG-TERM. To ease & streamline our funding processes, Stanislaus Community Foundation and the United Way have developed a JOINT survey tool that we’re asking our local nonprofits to fill out. Please CLICK HERE to fill out this simple nonprofit survey. Please note that while filling out this survey does not guarantee funding, it does greatly help us to focus our limited discretionary grants and at the same time, assist our donor education.
  • We have identified City Ministry Network to provide technical assistance for local nonprofits seeking federal stimulus programs and other navigation, in both English and Spanish. Please stay tuned for more details on this capacity-assistance program.

We are trying to flex our own grantmaking processes so that we can be efficient & responsive to your needs; while educating our donor investors, corporate partners and the larger community regarding specific nonprofit needs at the same time. Stanislaus Community Foundation and United Way will continue to flex our grantmaking and our focus during the period ahead; and we are considering ways to support immediate needs while also focusing on long-term economic recovery.

Please take a few moments to fill out the survey tool; this is a LIVING document that can also be updated at any time. You can find & update the survey at both www.StanislausCF.org and www.uwaystan.org in the future too.
