We are currently hiring for the following position

Director of Finance/Controller 
Full-Time (40hr/wk)

Responsible for ensuring the development of all financial and accounting programs and procedures; safeguarding United Way’s financial and non-financial resources; ensuring the establishment and maintenance of adequate systems of internal accounting controls; ensuring adherence to United Way’s financial policies; producing internal and external financial reports; ensuring that information and technology systems are designed, developed and implemented; supervising the accounting and finance department’s daily operations; and providing assistance to other departments with respect to various financial issues.

Essential Functions:
• In conjunction with the Chief Professional Officer, Governing Board and Finance Committee, formulates and implements annual financial strategies in support of United Way of Stanislaus County’s operations and Strategic Plan.
• Oversees, coordinates and prepares the annual United Way of Stanislaus County operating budget, including producing financial forecasts.
• Directs and maintains the daily operations of the Finance/Accounting department and the systems of internal accounting controls, including the Accounting and Financial Policy and Procedure Manual.
• Serves all United Way of Stanislaus County departments through a collaborative relationship with regard to financial issues, programs and procedures.
• Monitors adherence to the United Way of Stanislaus County Board-approved financial policies.
• Manages and directs the United Way of Stanislaus County’s cash flow and investment portfolio in conjunction with appropriate volunteer committees and the Chief Professional Officer.
• Assists with the completion of special assignments and projects as requested by the Chief Professional Officer and/or volunteers.
• In addition, all United Way employees are expected to promote teamwork and cooperative effort and to help train and give guidance to other United Way employees.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Graduation from a four-year degree program in accounting. Two to five years of progressive accounting experience in general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and budgeting, prefer experience as a controller or higher. Current knowledge of Financial Accounting Standards as promulgated by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and as relevant to not-for-profit organizations. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience in grant accounting and management required. Prefer basic understanding of a personal computer and related application software to include Excel, Word and MIP.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
